WebbOperant conditioning is a form of learning in which the motivation for a behavior happens after the behavior is demonstrated. An animal or a human receives a consequence after performing a specific behavior. The consequence is either a reinforcer or a punisher. WebbOperant conditioning has to do with operants: intentional actions that have an effect on the environment around us. Skinner began to identify the processes that made the occurrence of certain operant behaviors more or less probable. Skinner's theory of operant conditioning is based on the work of Thorndike (1905).
